This summer saw incredible growth at Hot Diggity!, with a new office and four more awesome team members to care for our fantastic new dog walking and pet sitting clients! Read on to find out about Josh, Jen, Amanda, and Amanda! (Nope, that’s not a typo. We just call them by their last names at this point.)

Josh made his way to Portland from rural Southern Oregon, where he grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, horses, and a variety of critters from fish to rabbits. Josh loves the outdoors and is an avid backpacker who can be found watching birds, ants, deer, and, if he is lucky, a bear or cougar. When not hanging out with his favorite Portland pets, Josh teaches Yoga and loafs around in his sandals, enjoying life.

Amanda T. has been a pet sitter in the city of Portland for the last three years and is very excited to join the Hot Diggity! team! At age twelve Amanda began volunteering at her local animal shelter and she has remained active in the animal care field ever since. Amanda cares for a variety of pets, including rats, ferrets, lizards, and even chickens. In her free time, Amanda likes to explore Portland on foot and by bike, finding fun and interesting places she never knew existed, even after ten years in the city. She also enjoys camping, hiking, and taking day trips to the coast. Most of all, though, Amanda loves spending time with animals and has always felt a strong connection with our furry, feathery, scaly friends.

Amanda N. was raised in the Pacific Northwest, but received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Azusa Pacific University in southern California (where she also met her husband). After getting married and moving back to Portland to be closer to family, the Nielsens began the journey of raising a puppy. It was love at first sight for Amanda and the adorable Meeko (seen posing here with mom). After learning just how much love and care pets need, Amanda decided she wanted more opportunities to spend more time with caring for other furry friends.

Jen moved to Oregon in the summer of 2011 from Honolulu, Hawaii, where she was born and raised with true island culture and traditions. Throughout her childhood, Jen had a wide variety of pets including dogs, cats, turtles, and salamanders. Jen loves exploring outdoors, discovering the local art and music scene, reading, drawing, crafting, and making jewelry.

The HD crew and their four-legged friends were treated like rock stars at Kimpton’s Hotel Vintage Plaza. We love working with business partners we admire, and the team at the Vintage Plaza is one of the best! Thanks for all the referrals!
